Coffee Diary #1
My end goal is to have a coffee shop of my own. Roasting my own beans, brewing my own coffee, serving a quaint little town. Nestling in C’s dreams into mine, we will marry our ideas and open a bookstore cafe.
I don’t claim to be an expert; in fact, I’m clueless. Right now, all I can do is savor the taste of every morning coffee I make and enjoy the ones I buy from my local coffee shops.
But today, I decided I will start an online diary, hoping I look back at this and see progress. May it be each week, or each month, each year, or after a decade, I’m hoping to see improvement. I’m hoping by then I’ve figured out the perfect cup of coffee for me.
Today’s coffee, I made like the usual. I forgot that I changed my portafilter basket to a pressurized dual-wall a week ago. According to my reading, one would only use this when using a pre-ground coffee, and I ground my coffee every single time. That might be mistake number 1.
My coffee came out bitter with some tones of acidity. Little to no foam. On my second sip after letting it sit for a minute, I found it to be a tad sweeter.
Due to my limited knowledge, I’ve decided I will take some coffee-making or barista classes and maybe even apply to my local coffee shop. Or a corporate one. We shall see.
